Fred Herbst

I am a little behind on my blogging, Fred came to see me in December and I am just getting his images up now.  I will blame the holiday's I think.

Sometimes it is the little extras in a work that take it over the top.  Not only does Fred craft beautiful pottery, his handles and tops so well done add another dimension to the work like this one below.

 These images are another example of how the little things can add to a work.  Both the metal top on the first and the handles on the pot add just that little bit extra to the pieces.

This is a shot of Fred acting as photography assistant in my studio.  I was looking for a way of reflecting the light so it didn't make quite so much of a shine on one side.  It wasn't bad but I went with the one at the top of this blog, it had more contrast and detail.
